Public transport is for everyone, and so is Shoo. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we test the app with Apple’s accessibility features.
What’s built in
- Wheelchair access. Turn it on in Settings or when you first open the app. Trips then use only wheelchair-accessible services and step-free interchanges, and the trip planner keeps stairs and escalators out of the way through stations.
- VoiceOver. Screens, stops and departures have spoken labels.
- Larger text. The app follows your text size setting.
- Reduce Motion. Scrolling text and animations calm down when Reduce Motion is on.
- Light and dark appearance, with high-contrast Transport for NSW line colours.
- Walking speed. Set a slower pace so connection times suit you.
Accessible services
Departures that are accessible to wheelchairs show the wheelchair symbol. For help at a station, including boarding assistance, call Transport Info on 131 500. If you’re deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment, contact us through the National Relay Service on 133 677.
This website
We aim for WCAG 2.2 level AA on shooshoo.app: it works with VoiceOver, scales with your text size and respects Reduce Motion. The launch film has captions in every language the site is in, and a described version, scene by scene. Tell us about any problem at hello@shooshoo.app.
Tell us what to improve
If something in the app is hard to use, email hello@shooshoo.app. We read every message and treat accessibility problems as bugs.
