You choose, every time
Sharing is something you turn on. Your location is off by default. For each trip, you choose which friends, if any, can see where you are, and sharing ends when you arrive. The trip you share is deleted when it ends.
A link always asks. An invite link asks “Add as a friend?” before anything happens. Nobody is added just by opening a link.
Private by default
Photos you add are seen only by your friends. There are no ads, trackers or analytics in the app, and nothing is shared with advertisers. If you delete your account, everything synced or shared goes with it.
